KILLING TIME
Dear RoadHard,

Hello! How is the U.S. of A? Well, my name is Joe Juras and I am a grunt serving in Bosnia at Camp McGovern. Yes it sucks! It's just life in the Army! I just wanted to write to ya'll and say thanks for your support. It makes what we are doing worth it wether we believe in the mission or not. Knowing that some people really care about us makes many of us feel better, especially when a great band like JB Walker and his Cheap Whiskey Band comes and puts on a great concert. They gave us a break from the day to day bull and reminded us that we don't have long until we are back in the world and be able to ride. There own music was great! "Everybody Dies" and "Redheaded Woman" kicked ass! Since I am married to a feisty Redhead it hit home. It has been six years since I have had the chance to ride. My Bro back home is hooking me up, he is checking prices and quality for me. Why am I telling you all this? I have a friend who swears by the Iron Horse Saloon and he flipped out when JB was giving away Iron Horse T Shirts. Me and a handful of my Bros in the Army are going to meet up at the Iron Horse in 98 during Bike Week for a Bosnia reunion and to thank Billy and Sally for the stuff in person. Thanks again for all ya'll have done to support us.

HEY JOE;
You're more than welcome and we look forward to seeing you guy's in 98. Billy and Sally at the Iron Horse always support the CWB Troop shows, they are #1.

DOING TIME;
Dear RoadHard,

Your staff and all the members of JB Walker and Band really contributed to a simple request! The early part of this summer I wrote and inquired about where to acquire the CD "Iron Horses and Wild Women 96" which was mentioned in EasyRider in Rip's column. You promptly sent me the CD and threw in some magazines. I can only say that I should have sent you this letter out sooner, and thank you as you rightfully deserve.

Allthough I was unable to put the CD to my use, I forwarded it home as a pass around. I have heard from family & friends & brothers who assured me they are out scavenging for any and all other releases they can locate.

The magazines you provided have led to many great days of reading around here. We spend our hours recalling days that for some of us are surrounded in cobwebs. I look forward to the day somewhere in the future when I will be back out in West Texas puffin'.
If you would like to print this letter of thanks, permission is fully granted. Once again, thanks for the act of generosity to a group of down brothers.
Your brother first & certainly a fan. Always,

HEY Country, You are more than welcome and we are going to get some more magazines out to ya'll soon. We will forward this letter to the CWB. Thanks.

Dear RoadHard,

Hello from Hungary! Just thought I would pass along the word from the commander, "The Cheap Whiskey Band Ruled!" I have also enclosed an article from our local rag, the American Endeavor, there is a pretty good picture of the band on the back cover. People are still talking about the great time they had during the 4th of July Concert. All of the top brass around here have taken to calling me Janis. BG Cassey even tried to get me to sing to LT General Abrams on a video teleconference.

I just wish all of the D.O.D. shows were as good as you guy's are. We just had the most god-awful group come through here! The Liberty Misses couldn't sing and couldn't dance, it was completely terrible. Poor John McIntosh had to escort them to 20 different shows down in the box! What a nightmare!

I hope you all had a nice trip back to the states and the Veterans Concert went well. We have been pretty busy around here getting ready for BB King. It should be a great concert as well. Well, gotta get back to work. Keep in touch!

Sincerely,

Dear RoadHard,

How are all of you? I am at the lace office playing with the computer, it is a new toy for me. Could you get JB Walker to be involved in an auction for my club to benefit hearing impaired children. All he would have to do is be auctioned off as a slave for a night to one of our club members. All proceeds go to the children. It occurs during bike week and since he will be in Daytona during that time, well, see what he says. We look forward to seeing JB Walker and Cheap Whiskey, it is the highlight of the year for me. Tell Mr. Pat and the others I said hello as well. It still gets warm here during the day but it is to cold to go swimming, so I spend a lot of time on my bike. One other thing, your photographer took some pictures of us during Biketoberfest and we would like to get copies. Could you have him E Mail us at: Laceone@aol.com. Thanks.

Your friend,
Ann, Leather & Lace

Dear Ann,
Just got off the phone with JB and after he quit laughing at the possibilities he said he would love to do it. RoadHard donates free space to charities, so send us some info on the event. Thanks for reading.

Dear RoadHard,

I am a Biker who enjoys your magazine. JB and his band are right in the middle of the Biker Scene and are a great way to find out what is going down.
I have seen JB Walker and the Cheap Whiskey Band in concert many times all over the South and more than once, they saved my life. That's right saved my life! They always have those Goody's Headache Powders and after most of the really killer parties I need something to keep my head from exploding. Ride To Live!

Dear RoadHard,

Thank you for the magazines you sent along with the Cheap Whiskey Band when they came to play for us misplaced Americans in Bosnia with the Army. They had all kinds of free things for us, even Goody's Powders! Where do they get them from! That really brought a taste of home for us Southern Boys. We appreciate all the support. from the Bikers. Thank You.

Victor,
Thank you for the letter. The Goody's Headache Powder Company supports American Forces, so they always send some free samples, T Shirts and things with JB on his overseas tours to give away. Those things are just like the Army, they get the job done too. Letters can be sent to: RoadHard Magazine Box 1372, Mableton, GA 30059 E Mail: RoadHard1@aol.com
